We were lucky to catch up with Natasha Clements recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Natasha, thanks for joining us today. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard

Nurse Couture is not just a brand; it’s a lifestyle that bridges the gap between functionality and fashion for nurses. Unlike the industry standard, which often prioritizes functionality over aesthetics, Nurse Couture recognizes that nurses deserve to feel empowered, stylish, and comfortable both on and off the clock. We design scrubs and lifestyle pieces with a chic, modern vibe that celebrate nurses’ professional achievements and personal style.

What sets us apart is our holistic approach.

Exclusive Collections: We offer four distinct collections tailored to every aspect of a nurse’s life—The Stylish Standard for everyday wear, The Luxe Collection for premium luxury, the Off Duty Collection for downtime, and Everyday Essentials for accessories.

Sustainability: We use compostable, recycled packaging and durable, long-lasting designs to reduce waste and align with nurses’ values of care and responsibility.

Community-Oriented Focus: Nurse Couture Society, our private Facebook group, fosters networking and professional growth while providing a supportive space for nurses to connect.

One standout moment that illustrates our difference was when a customer shared how wearing our scrubs boosted her confidence during a high-stakes presentation at work. She said, “For the first time, I felt like my uniform matched my personality, skill level and professionalism.” Moments like these remind us that our work is more than clothing—it’s about empowering nurses to feel as exceptional as the work they do.
By marrying style, sustainability, and community, Nurse Couture is rewriting the narrative of what professional attire for nurses should be.

Natasha, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I’m Natasha Clements, often known as Nurse Tash. I’m a nursepreneur, mother, and the proud founder of Nurse Couture—a lifestyle brand that brings together fashion, functionality, and community for nurses everywhere. My journey in healthcare began over 20 years ago as a home health aide, and since then, I’ve advanced through every stage of nursing, including working as a travel nurse across several states. These experiences have not only shaped my understanding of the diverse challenges nurses face but also deepened my respect and passion for the profession.

Outside of nursing, I’ve pursued another passion of mine: real estate investing. It’s a field that has taught me resilience, creativity, and the importance of building a strong foundation.

What Nurse Couture Offers

Nurse Couture is more than just a clothing brand—it’s a lifestyle solution for modern nurses. Our offerings include:

Stylish, Functional Scrubs: Designed to empower nurses with comfort, practicality, and a sense of individuality.

Off-Duty Wear: Loungewear, pajamas, and athleisure for those well-deserved moments of rest.

Accessories & Essentials: Thoughtful items like drinkware and bags that blend style and functionality.

We also foster a supportive, thriving community through our private group (17.5K members and growing), Nurse Couture Society, where nurses can network, grow, and find inspiration.

My Life Beyond Business

When I’m not working, I’m passionate about exploring the world. I’m a travel enthusiast and self-proclaimed foodie who loves discovering new cultures, cuisines, and experiences. Some of my favorite moments are spent cooking with my sons. Whether hiking scenic trails, indulging in local dishes, or enjoying a quiet day at the beach, I’m always seeking opportunities to create cherished memories and gain inspiration.

What We Solve and What Sets Us Apart

I created Nurse Couture because I saw a gap in the industry. Nurses deserve more than just functional uniforms—they deserve attire that reflects their professionalism, individuality, and personal style. We focus on blending premium fabrics, thoughtful designs, and innovative features like moisture-wicking and wrinkle resistance to ensure our products meet the high demands of a nurse’s lifestyle.

What sets us apart is that we’re nurse-owned and operated. I understand firsthand the balance between professionalism and personal expression because I’ve lived it. Our designs celebrate nurses not just for their work but for who they are as individuals.

What I’m Most Proud Of

Hearing from nurses who feel confident and celebrated in our designs is what drives me every day. I’m also proud of how we care about sustainability, using eco-friendly packaging and creating durable, high-quality products that last. Beyond that, I love that Nurse Couture is building a strong community—a space where nurses can connect, learn, and grow together.

What I Want You to Know

At its core, Nurse Couture is a love letter to nurses. It’s a brand built by a nurse, for nurses, with the understanding that they deserve to feel stylish, supported, and celebrated in every facet of their lives. Whether you’re working a 12-hour shift, attending a professional conference, or relaxing at home, Nurse Couture has something to make you feel your best.

Nurse Couture is more than a clothing line; it’s a celebration of nurses and the incredible work they do. It’s built on the simple idea that nurses deserve to feel as exceptional as the care they provide. By blending my experiences as a nurse, entrepreneur, and traveler, I’ve created a brand that empowers and uplifts the nursing community. Whether you’re clocking in for a long shift, pursuing personal growth, exploring the world, or enjoying a well-deserved break, Nurse Couture is here to celebrate and support you every step of the way.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

My journey has been one of perseverance and transformation, shaped by challenges that taught me the true meaning of resilience. Growing up, my family faced poverty, and I spent time in foster care while navigating the difficulties of having a parent with mental illness. Those early experiences instilled in me a deep sense of determination and the belief that no matter where you start, you have the power to create a different path for yourself.

One of the most defining moments in my journey was during the COVID-19 pandemic. At the time, I was running my first scrub company, which I had poured my heart into. Unfortunately, the business faced a major setback due to the pandemic and a failed partnership, ultimately leading to its closure. It was a heartbreaking moment that could have been the end of my dream. Instead, I chose to view it as a lesson—a chance to regroup, refocus, and rebuild.

From that experience, I learned the importance of trusting myself, staying true to my vision, and finding the strength to start over. Nurse Couture was born out of that resilience. This time, I built a brand that reflects not only my passion for empowering healthcare professionals but also the lessons I’ve learned about creating something sustainable, impactful, and aligned with my values.

As a divorced, single mother of two boys, every day is a balancing act. My sons are my motivation, and I want them to see that even when life presents challenges, it’s possible to rise above them. Building Nurse Couture while overcoming these personal and professional hurdles has been one of my proudest achievements.
A pivotal moment that stands out is launching Nurse Couture and seeing the incredible response from my community. It was validation that my hard work, persistence, and resilience had paid off. The journey wasn’t easy, but it has shaped me into the person and entrepreneur I am today—a woman deeply committed to empowering others and proving that setbacks don’t define you; how you rise after them does.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?

One of the most significant pivots in my life came after the closure of my first scrub company. That business primarily sold other brands’ scrubs, and while I was passionate about serving the healthcare community, I faced challenges that ultimately led to its closure during the COVID-19 pandemic. A failed partnership and the unforeseen circumstances of the pandemic forced me to shut the doors on a venture I had worked so hard to build.

That experience was devastating, but it also became a turning point. Instead of letting disappointment define me, I chose to see it as a powerful learning opportunity. I took a step back to evaluate what went wrong, what I could have done differently, and how I could use those lessons to create something even better.

I realized I needed to approach my next venture with a clearer vision and a stronger foundation. I began educating myself on entrepreneurship, product development, and branding, and I sought out mentors who could guide me through the process. One of the biggest shifts I made was deciding to create my own brand instead of selling others’. This allowed me to focus on designing scrubs and lifestyle wear that reflect my unique perspective as a nurse, meeting the needs of healthcare professionals in ways I wished I’d had earlier in my career.

With Nurse Couture, I’ve been able to channel the lessons from my first business into building something that is not only more sustainable but also more aligned with my values and goals. This time, I’ve focused on creating a lifestyle brand that celebrates and empowers nurses, with innovative designs and a supportive community at its core.

The pivot wasn’t just about changing business models—it was about changing my mindset. I had to learn to trust myself, seek out the right support, and embrace the possibility of starting over with a stronger foundation. That shift has made all the difference, and I’m proud to say that Nurse Couture is thriving as a result.
This experience taught me that setbacks are not failures—they are opportunities to pivot, grow, and come back stronger. By taking those lessons to heart, I’ve built a brand that is not just a business but a testament to resilience and reinvention.
