For best results, use a non-chlorinated detergent. Wash in cold water on a gentle cycle, inside out, with like colors. Avoid bleach. You can tumble dry on low or hang to dry, and iron on a low setting if needed. For light-colored fabrics, be cautious with detergents that contain dyes or pod-style detergents, as these can cause staining if the dye comes into direct contact with the fabric.
